POLICY VERSION 2026-10-12-v1 · DRAFT FOR LEGAL REVIEW

Customs & Logistics Risk Policy

Important: Cross-border shipments can face inspection, delay, detention, rejection, forfeiture or seizure. Customs clearance is not guaranteed, even when a shipment is expected to be routine.

1. Lawful trade only

IRIS.EE will not knowingly source, list, sell or ship contraband, counterfeit, stolen, prohibited or unlawfully imported goods. Customers must not ask any party to misdescribe goods, falsify documents, undervalue shipments, evade duties or bypass permits and restrictions. Goods requiring a licence or permit may be traded only when all required approvals are in place.

2. Customer information and cooperation

Customers must provide accurate recipient/importer details and any documents lawfully required for clearance. If an authority requests information, the customer and IRIS.EE will cooperate as required by law. Do not submit forged or misleading documents.

3. Detention, rejection or seizure

If a shipment is held or seized, the parties should preserve shipment records and promptly notify one another. IRIS.EE will investigate the reason, request available information from the supplier/carrier/clearing agent, and assess available remedies, insurance and contractual obligations. Customs outcomes are controlled by authorities and cannot be promised by IRIS.EE.

4. How costs and losses are assessed

There is no blanket rule that all customs losses automatically fall on the customer or are always shared. Allocation must be determined by the documented cause and applicable contract and law. Examples include a customer's inaccurate declaration or failure to provide required importer information; a supplier's misdescription or missing export documents; a carrier or clearing agent's failure; or an error attributable to IRIS.EE. Insurance, recoveries, refunds, reshipment and reasonable documented costs should be considered. IRIS.EE will not rely on this notice to avoid liability that cannot legally be excluded.

5. Before placing a high-risk shipment

For goods or routes with elevated seizure, restriction or licensing risk, IRIS.EE should verify product classification, supplier documents, origin, destination rules, required permits, importer-of-record responsibilities, Incoterms, insurance cover and a written loss-allocation agreement before accepting payment. If these checks cannot be completed, the order should not proceed.

6. Customer acknowledgement

By accepting this policy, you acknowledge that international shipping and customs outcomes involve risks and that delay, detention, rejection or seizure can occur. You agree to cooperate with lawful documentation requests and understand that any cost or loss allocation will follow the applicable written order terms and law, rather than an automatic blanket waiver.

Legal review is required before relying on this policy. Align it with each supplier contract, delivery terms/Incoterms, insurance policy, importer-of-record arrangement, product classification and destination-country law. Do not use a generic signup checkbox as a substitute for a separate order-specific agreement where required.
